Stone Centre funded research

The Stone Centre at UCL is offering research support grants of up to £50,000. Find out who can apply and how to do so.

Who can apply?

Academic members of staff at a university or other higher education institution anywhere in the world, except University College London.

What projects do we fund?

Your research must align with the research themes and mission of the Stone Centre. We encourage you to include an educational resource component where possible.

What's the amount of the grants?

There are two funding streams:

  • grants up to £25,000 – you will need to use your funds within 12 months of receiving them, and produce any output or research within 18 months of receiving the funds,
  • grants up to £50,000 – you will need to use your funds within 24 months of receiving them, and produce any output or research within 36 months of receiving the funds.

Application process

Follow the steps below to apply for a Stone Centre research support grant.

  1. They set out full eligibility criteria, explain what deliverables are expected, and detail the documents you need to include in your application.

  2. Head to the online application form and apply. An editable version of the form is available if you would like to work on it offline. Only applications submitted through the online form will be considered.

  3. Wait for the outcome

    We will make our decision by the end of August and will inform you of the outcome. We may get in touch in the meantime if we need more information about your application.
